The Tennessee Volunteer Tartan
Last fall students in the
Department of Consumer Services Management were challenged by the
Department's Advisory Board to develop new UT products. Out of this
effort the idea emerged to establish a new tradition and create a
signature plaid fabric that is uniquely UT. Retail students in the
Advanced Product Development course developed a wide range of
designs. The selection committee is chaired by Pat Johnson,
wife of UT President Joe Johnson. The committee, including UT
alumni, current students and staff, selected the top four
contenders.
The Tennessee Volunteer
Tartan Winner was unveiled on April 17th at European Splendor, the
spring fundraising gala of the Department of Consumer Services
Management. With over 7,200 votes cast, Tartan #2 was
selected as the winner.
