"He who bears a torch shadows himself
to give light to others."
We thank all Torchbearers for attending
the Torchbearer Reunion and helping us celebrate the 75th
Anniversary of the Torchbearer Award. Everyone had a wonderful time
and those unable to attend were missed.
We relived the UT
of yesterday, explored the UT of tomorrow, and unveiled the UT of
today. Over 115 Torchbearers, spouses and friends participated in
the lecture series and walking tour.
The Friday evening reception and dinner
allowed ample time for everyone to visit with friends. The mood was
festive and celebratory.
Fellow
Torchbearer Jerre Haskew, Class of 1962 and member of The Cumberland
Trio, supplied all Torchbearers with CD’s and videos from previous
band concerts.
The halftime
presentation of the Torchbearers singing the alma mater and waving
to over 106,000 alumni and friends was the highlight of the weekend.
The reunion
received only rave reviews from everyone who attended and was a
great success. Click
